Good Shepherd Stories

Good Shepherd Story 1

Once upon a time there was a good shepherd, who had 100 sheep. One morning he counted his sheep and found that one was missing. He checked the fence of the sheep fold and found a hole in it, which he mended.

He set out to search for the lost sheep and when he found it he carried it home on his shoulders. On his return to the fold he celebrated, with a party for all the sheep.

Afterwards

He taught the sheep of the dangers of leaving the fold.

Once upon a time there was a good shepherd, who had 100 sheep. One morning he counted his sheep and found that one was missing. He checked the fence of the sheep fold and found a hole in it. He didn't fix the hole, but put a warning notice by it for the sheep to read.

He set out to search for the lost sheep and when he found it he carried it home on his shoulders. On his return to the fold he celebrated, with a party for all the sheep.

Afterwards

He offered counselling on the dangers of leaving the fold He received a legal summons from certain of his sheep with respect to his negligence over the upkeep of the fence.

Once upon a time there was a good shepherd, who had 100 sheep. One morning he counted his sheep and found that one was missing. He checked the fence of the sheep fold and found a hole in it. He didn't fix the hole, but put a warning notice by it for the sheep to read.

He stayed at home. The lost sheep enjoyed itself for a time, but when it came to its senses it went back to the sheep fold. The shepherd celebrated with a party for all he sheep in the fold.

Afterwards

He offered counselling to those sheep who resented all this fuss being made over one of their number who had been so stupid as to go through the hole in the fence. He received a legal summons from certain of his sheep with respect to his negligence over the upkeep of the fence.


Good Shepherd Story 4

Once upon a time there was a good shepherd, who had 100 sheep. One morning he counted his sheep and found that several sheep were missing. He checked the fence of the sheep fold and found a hole in it. He didn't fix the hole, but put a warning notice by it for the sheep to read.

He stayed at home. The lost sheep made themselves a new sheep fold, and held a party to celebrate its founding. They invited sheep from the original fold to come to the party, but they were not sure that they should.


Afterwards

Sheep from the original fold were divided on whether the new fold was really a sheep fold, and whether those in it were really sheep. They resented the shepherd's idea that he might look after both folds. The shepherd received a legal summons from certain of his sheep with respect to his negligence over the upkeep of the fence.
