Walking with Encounters
This will require space enough to walk round a room.
Ask people to move at different speeds - fast, slow.
Ask them to become aware of the people in the room with them. Direct them periodically to pause and look at the person nearest them and then move on.
Music might be played quietly in the background.
Then invite people to find a phrase, a word... or look at each other and ponder or talk about a concern...
For example at a meeting concerned with social responsibility the leader invited people at the pauses to share briefly their concern about homelessness, justice, single parents, poverty etc.
End with a short period of silence and discussion about the experience.
